Science Hill Poultry needed to expand its farming operation, but its existing electrical infrastructure was inadequate and improperly positioned for the planned growth.
The limited capacity, combined with the farm’s complex setup, including poultry barns, grain elevators, and a solar power system, posed significant risks of downtime and operational disruptions during the transition.
They reached out to us for help.
A Smart Move: Relocating for Future Growth
We submitted a request to the utility company to increase the farm’s electrical capacity and coordinated the relocation of the service to a more suitable location. While we were at it, we also upgraded their generator so that even during a power outage, the farm could keep running without a hitch.
Keeping the Lights On: Zero Downtime Strategy
This wasn’t a simple setup. The site includes poultry barns, grain elevators, and a solar power system, so keeping everything up and running during the transition was a must.
We built the new service while the old one was still active, then safely switched everything over without any downtime.
Harnessing the Sun: Enhancing Solar Integration
Now, the farm has plenty of power to grow and can make the most of its solar generation. With a stronger electrical backbone and a more reliable backup system, they’re set up for the future—and they’ve got peace of mind knowing their operation won’t miss a beat.
