THE PROBLEM
Equipment Needs 3-Phase Power. Your Shop Doesn’t Have It...Yet.
Many shops and rural businesses operate with single-phase power, yet rely on equipment that requires three-phase.
This mismatch leads to:
- Equipment that won't run at full performance
- Costly electrical upgrades or utility extensions
- Inconsistent voltage that damages sensitive tools like CNCs
- Downtime due to unstable power supply
If you're working with woodworking equipment, CNC machinery, pumps, air compressors, or other industrial machines — you know how critical stable three-phase power is.

THE SOLUTION
High-Performance Phase Conversion — Done Right.
Rotary Phase Converters from American Rotary, available through Toews Power Systems, offer the most reliable and efficient way to convert single-phase power into three-phase power — without compromising equipment safety or performance.
Serving Agricultural, Commercial, Industrial, Residential & Alternative Energy Systems

Quality of Construction
American Rotary utilizes 100% stress-free mounts on all components. Any electrical product that has any components, especially capacitors (usually silver or black cylinder-shaped parts inside the panel), that are mounted with banding of any kind should be avoided.
Banding (tension mounting) is an inexpensive way to mount capacitors and other components, but severely shortens their life by causing damage to the outside of the capacitor. Weakening the casing eventually leads to leaking and ultimately, failure.
Reliable Power for a Range of Industries
Where You Can Use Phase Converters

Agriculture
American Rotary phase converters provide dependable, affordable 3-phase power for farms in remote areas where utility upgrades are costly. Ideal for augers, grain dryers, pumps, mixers, and more. Outdoor-ready models like the AI Industrial Phase Converter handle high-inertia loads with ease.

Food Service
Perfect for voltage-sensitive equipment like ovens, pizza ovens, mixers, rotisseries, wine presses, and ice cream machines. American Rotary's UL Certified Phase Converters deliver the consistent, precise power your food service operation demands.

Industrial Applications
From machine shops to general industrial equipment, American Rotary phase converters deliver 3-phase power without expensive utility upgrades. Quiet, reliable, easy to install, and built to handle even the most demanding environments.

Machining
Power precision equipment like CNC mills, lathes, wire EDMs, and fabrication tools with balanced 3-phase output. American Rotary converters efficiently run both small and heavy-duty machines—all with one converter.

Metalworking
Ideal for grinders, welders, shears, brakes, and benders. American Rotary phase converters provide steady, balanced power for voltage-sensitive metal fabrication tools of any size, ensuring smooth, reliable operation.

Woodworking
Whether you're running one machine or multiple 3-phase tools simultaneously, American Rotary converters offer balanced power for saws, planers, sanders, and other woodworking equipment. Safe, reliable, and built for varied load conditions.
Precision Matters
Voltage Balance Testing Claims
Many phase converters use stock or modified TEFC or ODP motors, which struggle to maintain stable voltage under load. American Rotary avoids this by using custom Baldor induction generators built specifically for phase conversion.
Unlike companies that pair their panels with motors from various manufacturers—resulting in inconsistent voltage balance—American Rotary ensures consistent performance by using a single, purpose-engineered solution.
Comparison
Induction Generator vs TEFC and ODP Motors
There are many differences between American Rotary’s Phase Converter Induction Generator and stock or modified TEFC and ODP electric motors. American Rotary has constructed the following table to summarize the most critical differences.
Feature | American Rotary Induction Generator | TEFC/ODP Motors (Stock/Modified) |
---|---|---|
Designed for Phase Conversion | ✅ | ❌ |
Voltage Balance Efficiency | 98% | Lower, especially under load |
Inrush Current | -83% (Soft Start) | +600% |
Noise | Quiet | Loud Cooling Fans |
Shaft Safety | No exposed shaft | Exposed shaft—risk of failure |
Country of Manufacture | USA (Baldor) | Offshore (China, Brazil, Taiwan) |
